Therapy Services
Teletherapy Across New York
Teletherapy at Ahava Mental Health is not a compromise. It is a full, effective alternative to in-person care, delivered with the same clinical depth, warmth, and privacy you would expect in our office.
What it is
Teletherapy means attending sessions by secure video from anywhere in New York State: your home, your office, or anywhere private. Research consistently shows that teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns, including anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship issues, and identity questions. It removes barriers that keep many people from getting care: commute time, childcare logistics, geographic distance, and community stigma.
How it works
Once we schedule your first session, you will receive a secure link to a HIPAA-compliant video platform. No special software is needed, just a device with a camera and a private space. Sessions run 45 minutes, just like in-person appointments. We follow the same structured, evidence-based approach whether you are joining from your living room or a parked car.
Is this for you?
Teletherapy may be ideal if you:
- Live outside of Manhattan and want access to specialized care
- Have a schedule that makes commuting to appointments difficult
- Value privacy and prefer not to be seen entering a therapist’s office
- Are a parent or caregiver who can only carve out time at home
- Travel frequently and need flexible access to consistent care
- Simply feel more comfortable opening up in your own space
What you can expect
- Same evidence-based care as in-person, with no compromise on quality
- Available to anyone in New York State, not just NYC
- No commute, so sessions fit into your actual life
- An added layer of privacy for those in close-knit communities
- Continuity of care when travel or life disrupts your schedule
- HIPAA-compliant, secure video that protects your confidentiality

For most concerns, including anxiety, OCD, depression, relationships, and identity, research consistently shows that teletherapy produces outcomes equivalent to in-person care. The therapeutic relationship and the approach matter far more than the medium.
