Parent Support
Parenting is one of the most meaningful and most demanding things you will ever do. Parent support gives you a space to think, breathe, and become the parent you want to be, even when things feel hard.
What it is
Parent support is a focused, collaborative form of therapy designed for parents who are struggling, whether with a teen who is pulling away, family conflict that keeps escalating, the exhaustion of holding everyone together, or simply the weight of not knowing if you are doing it right. We bring together evidence-based parent coaching, CBT, and solution-focused approaches to give you practical tools and real relief.
How it works
Sessions are held individually with the parent or parents. This is your space, not your child’s. We start by understanding the specific challenges you are facing: what is working, what is not, and what you most want to change. From there, we build strategies you can actually use at home, while also creating room to process the emotional toll that comes with parenting through difficult stretches.

Common questions
Parent Support, answered
These sessions are for you, the parent. We may also discuss family therapy or individual therapy for your child as part of a broader plan, but this space is yours: to think, process, and build skills.
Yes, often significantly. When parents shift how they communicate and respond, the dynamic at home changes, even before a teen is ready to open up. Coaching parents is frequently the most effective place to start.
We can work with both of you together or separately. Different parenting styles are very common, and we can help you find an approach you both feel good about.
Completely. That feeling is one of the most common things parents bring into this room. It does not mean you are failing. It often means you care deeply and are facing something genuinely hard.
Yes, for parents anywhere in New York State. Many parents find telehealth especially convenient given the demands on their time.
Family therapy brings multiple family members together into the same sessions. Parent support focuses specifically on you: your skills, your wellbeing, and your relationship to parenting. We can recommend family therapy in addition if that would help.
