Therapy Services
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a confidential, one-on-one relationship built to help you understand what you are feeling, why, and what to do about it, at a pace that feels safe.
What it is
Individual therapy is a regular, private conversation between you and your therapist. There is no script to follow and nothing you are required to share before you are ready. Over time, we work to make sense of patterns, ease distress, and build the skills and self-understanding that help you live the life you want.
How it works
We begin with a few sessions to get to know each other and understand what brings you in. From there, we set collaborative goals and choose an approach, often a blend of evidence-based methods tailored to you. Sessions are typically weekly, 45 minutes, in person on the Upper East Side, or by secure telehealth anywhere in New York State.

It depends entirely on your goals. Some people come for a focused stretch around a specific challenge; others stay longer for deeper work. We review progress together regularly so you always know where things stand.
The first session is a chance to get to know each other. We talk about what brings you in, a bit of your history, and what you are hoping for. There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with.

You should feel, over time, more understood, more equipped, and less alone with what you are carrying. We check in on your goals regularly and adjust the work if something is not landing.
