Dina Abramowitz, LMHC, Owner and Psychotherapist at Ahava Mental Health

Why I do this work

I started Ahava because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be fully themselves, without judgment, without performing, and without having to explain their whole world before the real conversation can begin.

My path to this work wasn’t a straight line. Studying forensic psychology and addiction before graduate school gave me a deep appreciation for how much context shapes a person’s story, and how rarely people get the chance to tell theirs on their own terms. That conviction has stayed at the center of everything I do.

So much of what makes therapy work is the relationship: feeling safe enough to be honest, and supported enough to try something new. My job is to bring both the evidence-based tools and the steady, human presence that make that possible.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety or OCD, questions of identity and faith, a hard season in a relationship, or just a sense that something needs to shift, you don’t have to carry it alone. Reaching out is the hardest part. We’ll take it from there, together.

Evidence-based, genuinely human

I draw on established, research-backed modalities woven together with a collaborative, curiosity-led style. You are the expert on your own experience. I bring the tools and the steady presence.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A well-researched approach that helps you identify and reshape the thought patterns driving anxiety, depression, and stress, building practical tools you can use every day.

ERP

Exposure & Response Prevention

The gold-standard treatment for OCD. Working gradually and collaboratively, we reduce the hold compulsions have over your life, with evidence that this genuinely works.

EFT

Emotionally Focused Therapy

A relationally attuned approach that gets to the root of emotional patterns and helps you build deeper, more secure connections with yourself and the people around you.

SFT

Solution-Focused

Pragmatic, forward-looking work that starts from your strengths. We focus on what's already working and build from there, without dwelling exclusively in the past.

What we work on together

These are the areas I know most deeply: the ones I’ve trained in, practiced in, and bring both skill and genuine care to.

Care for every person

Teens (16+)

A safe, non-judgmental space for adolescents navigating school, identity, and the pressures of growing up.

Young Adults

Support for the transitions, questions, and stressors that come with building your life as an adult.

Families

Strengthening family relationships through honest conversation, skilled facilitation, and care for every member.

LGBTQ+ Community

Fully affirming care where every identity is welcomed and respected, without reservation or exception.

Religious Communities

Culturally attuned care that honors tradition, nuance, and the complexity of religious identity.

Healthcare Workers

Care for the caregivers, understanding the weight of shift work, moral injury, and a profession that rarely asks for help.

Transparent &
accessible care

I believe financial considerations shouldn’t stand between you and the support you deserve. I’m committed to clarity about costs from the very start, and I offer limited sliding scale spots for clients who need them.
